Previous VPHTHAC Olympians

Geoff Iden came ninth in the marathon at the 1952 Helsinki Olympics with a time of 2 hours 30 minutes and 42 seconds, and Rene Howell ran in the steeplechase at the 1948 London Games, although he had by then moved to west London and was a member of Finchley Harriers.

Team USA at Mile End Stadium

Team USA track and field athletes will be training at the club's home stadium at Mile End. Team USA has made significant investments into Mile End Stadium, including resurfacing the track, pole vault and high jump areas and improving the throwing circles. There will be coaching clinics run by USA national coaches and a chance for 100 Tower Hamlets residents to watch Team USA practice at the stadium. Team USA will also donate sporting memorabilia to Tower Hamlets' London 2012 archive.
